Experiment Five is a wonderful musical project
I've been involved in with four musician friends.
The idea:what would happen if 5 musicians were
given the same lyrics and asked to compose a song?
How would the interpretations differ? How would
each musician write the song? Sing it? Play it?
The results have been interesting and inspiring.
And each of us as musicians have experienced
a creative swell, thanks to our X5 participation.
The really interesting thing is that with each set of
lyrics supplied, the songwriter is returned with 5
songs (one solo and four co-written)! That's quite
a return on investment these days!
Experiment Five = one song, five ways. The
turnaround for each project is quick -- one week.
No emphasis is placed on recording quality. And
simple arrangements/productions have so far been
the mainstay. There is some latitude for creative
license, and so some lyrics end up changing, but in
general, they are followed pretty closely.
Have a listen. I think you'll really enjoy it!!
